Hazor'im was born. The word means "they that sow". It occurs in Psalm 126:5: "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy."
Paul says in Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek". That Paul was not talking here of an historical fact, but of an order of priority is borne out by the fact that, in all of his missionary journeys, when he arrived at a city, he would take the message first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles.
We sow in tears because the church has neglected this priority. Instead, the Jew of today sees the church, historically, as being the primary persecutor of the Jew. This is not surprising as the false church has much blood on its hands in this regard.
We sow in tears because the time of the Great Tribulation, the time of Jacob's trouble, lies just ahead of us. Israel is gathered to the Land, after 2,000 years of being scattered throughout the nations, so that God may deal with her there in fulfilment of prophecy. (Ezek. 36:19-24). We see the world turning against Israel. We see anti-Semitism sharply on the rise. And we know that we are on the threshold of a time, for Israel, worse than Hitler's holocaust. It is to end this terrible tribulation that the Lord Yeshua will return and Israel will look on Him whom they have pierced, and mourn, and He will stand on the Mount of Olives, and all Israel will be saved. (Zech. 12, 13, 14; Rom 11:26).
We sow the seed of God's word, so that, even if it lies in dry ground for now, when the rain does come, that seed will germinate and spring up a green and virulent shoot, to the Glory of Messiah. And any that would come to Messiah now, would bring songs of joy indeed. The fields are always white unto the harvest.
Hazor'im sends teams of short-term volunteer evangelists to Israel to work among the people there, to sow the Seed into their hearts with sincere love.
Volunteers undergo training before going.
There is time also, in Israel, for visiting sites of Biblical significance and for receiving rich teaching.
As a tool for such evangelism, Hazor'im uses, principally, the material provided by Messiah Comes. Messiah Comes has the backing of Ariel Ministries and is a collaborative effort with support from the leaders of major messianic Jewish ministries such as Jews For Jesus and Chosen People Ministries.
